Every plan button says Start for Free, but the pricing page does not state a trial length or a refund policy. Surfer's AI Tracker FAQ also says Standard covers ChatGPT only, with all models on Pro and up. Check both before you buy.

The Content Editor is the product most SEO writers have used. Live guidance while you type is something SerpDad does not offer.
AI tracking beyond Google
Surfer tracks ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini as well as Google AI features. SerpDad checks Google AI Overviews and AI Mode only.

Its site shows 150,000+ customers, case studies, courses, a community and weekly webinars. We have no customers yet, and we say so.

It works page by page
Surfer improves the page you picked. We found no step that gives every keyword in your list exactly one page, with the shared top 10 URLs behind each call.
The price climbs with AI tracking
The $49 entry plan tracks no AI prompts. Weekly tracking starts at $99 and daily at $82 for tracking alone, or $182 with the editor.
Generated articles need checking
Surfer AI writes full articles. Like any AI draft, they need a person to check every fact before they go out.
Fuzzy trial terms
The buttons say free, the pricing page lists no trial length and no refund policy. You find out at checkout.

Our verdict. Is Surfer SEO worth it?
Yes, if your job is writing and polishing pages. The Content Editor is mature, the integrations cover where most teams write, and the AI Tracker covers more assistants than most rivals. If you also want ChatGPT and Perplexity tracking, budget for the Pro plan at $182 a month.
Less so, if your problem is upstream. If you can't say which pages your site should have, which old page owns a keyword, or why, a better editor won't answer that. That is the gap SerpDad was built for, and it sits happily in front of Surfer.

For writing and polishing pages, often yes: its Content Editor is mature and widely used. If your problem is deciding which pages your site should have, a page editor will not answer that on its own.
