Pricing
$15 a month, plus what your providers charge you.
That is the whole price. One plan per workspace with every feature. Your band is set by the seat you take when you first pay, and it never goes up while you keep paying. Search data and AI are billed to you by DataForSEO and your AI provider, on your own keys, at their prices.

No workspace has paid yet. Seat 01 is the next one. The count is from 21 Oct 2026. A seat is never reissued, so once seat 30 is taken, $15 is gone for good.

Move the slider to your keyword count. Every rate below comes from our own bill for Run 2 on serpdad.com, so you can check each one. The calculator runs in your browser and sends nothing anywhere.
Rates from Run 2: $0.83 for 1,389 fresh results ($0.60 per 1,000), $10.42 of keyword data for 1,797 keywords ($5.80 per 1,000), $1.67 to sort the results and $0.18 for 5 briefs. Clearscope: $129 a month (Essentials), $399 (Business), source, checked 21 Oct 2026. The tools do different jobs.
The link holds only these numbers.
An estimate. The app shows its own estimate on your accounts before every run, and nothing runs until a person approves it. Keyword data is the big line: it was 80% of our bill, because SerpDad buys secondary keywords for every standalone page. Turn them off and the same run costs a fraction as much.
Before a cent is spent, you see this screen.
Every run stops at an approval screen. It lists each cost line, who bills it, and a range. The range is honest about what nobody knows yet: how many standalone pages the plan will find. Classification and secondary keywords both scale with that number, so they carry the widest spread.
The SERP fetch line has no range. SerpDad knows exactly how many results it needs, and it subtracts every result your workspace fetched in the last 30 days. In Run 2 that was 408 of 1,797 keywords, reused at no cost.
Two guards sit beside the estimate. A monthly spend cap ($50.00 suggested) pauses any run that would pass it. An approval line ($25.00 by default) sends bigger runs to an Owner or Admin. Both are yours to set in Provider keys.
The estimate, against the bill. Our run landed near the top of its range.
Run 2 was estimated at $4.32 to $14.77 and billed $13.10. The total stayed inside the range. One line did not: secondary keywords ran almost three times over their own estimate, and a cheap classification bill made up the difference. We show it because the same thing can happen to you.
| Line | Billed by | Estimate | Actual | Range and actual |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SERP fetch | DataForSEO | $0.83 | $0.83 | |
| Search volume | DataForSEO | $0.05 | $0.00 | |
| Secondary keywords (Labs) | DataForSEO | $1.80 to $3.60 | $10.42 Above | |
| Page classification | AI provider | $1.49 to $9.88 | $1.67 | |
| Automatic briefs | AI provider | $0.15 to $0.40 | $0.18 |
Why a new site lands near the top
serpdad.com had few stored results: 408 of 1,797 keywords were reused from Run 1. The plan also found 791 standalone pages, and secondary keyword data is bought per standalone page. A second run on the same keywords within 30 days reuses every result, and re-runs on stored results are free on SerpDad.
What the cap does when a line runs over
Approval checks the estimate plus this month's spend against your cap. A run that would pass the cap pauses before it spends. Owners and Admins get one email at 50% of the cap and one at 90%. Set a limit at each provider too, as a second guard.
Every limit, and what happens when you hit it.
No asterisks. These are all the limits the plan has today, with the exact behaviour at each one, from the billing and provider key docs.
Up to 200,000 keywords per plan. That is a fair-use line for one run, not a monthly allowance. There is no keyword fee, and keywords you store have no cap.
Up to 1,000 keywords, once per verified person, in the first workspace you own. A file over 1,000 keywords is stopped at the upload, before anything is fetched, so it can never turn into a bill on your keys.
A run whose estimate would take this month's provider spend past your cap pauses at approval. Leave the cap blank for no cap. We suggest $50.00.
A run estimated above $25.00 waits for an Owner or Admin. A Manager can approve anything below it.
Below $2.00, the run pauses and asks you to top up. It waits 72 hours, then resumes and fetches only what is still missing, so nothing is paid twice. Unfixed after 72 hours, it fails cleanly and your old plan stays live.
Counted, with no monthly cap. One site crawl stops at 10,000 pages, for safety.
No limit on projects or members. Re-runs are free on SerpDad, and results fetched in the last 30 days are reused at no provider cost.
Your locked price holds while Stripe retries the card. The workspace stays usable while you fix it.
The plan runs to the end of the paid month, then the price lock ends. Your stored provider keys are erased 30 days later, with an email when the plan ends and 7 days before. Your exports stay yours.
Opening Checkout holds the next seat for 30 minutes, so the price you see is the price charged. A seat is never reissued. If seat 12 stops paying, seat 12 is gone, and the band does not get a spare.
How SerpDad makes money. A note from the founder.
SerpDad makes money one way: a monthly subscription per workspace. That is the whole business.
We do not resell DataForSEO or AI usage, and we add nothing on top of it. That choice is on purpose. A tool that takes a margin on usage earns more when your runs cost more. We earn the same $15 whether your run costs 80 cents or 80 dollars, so every change we make to the pipeline tries to make it cheaper. A release on 21 Oct 2026 made runs faster at no extra provider cost.
Three things run on our own account, and we pay for them inside the plan: the free checkers on this site, the page reader that fetches the source pages your briefs cite, and the knowledge library that sorts that evidence for your drafts. Each has a daily cap per workspace, so the plan price can stay flat.
What we will not do: sell credit packs, lock you into a year, hold features back for a dearer tier, or raise the price of a workspace that keeps paying.

The honest limit.
Bring your own keys has a price of its own. Before your first run you need a DataForSEO account and an AI provider account, each with a little credit. That is ten minutes of setup most tools do not ask for.
Your provider bill also moves. It depends on your keywords, your model and how many pages the plan finds, so we can show you a range, never a fixed number.
Side by side, with a date on every price.
Entry prices from each vendor's own pricing page. These tools do different jobs: Clearscope, Surfer and Frase optimize or write pages you already chose, Keyword Insights groups keywords, and SerpDad plans which pages a site needs. The question here is only what you pay and what is metered.
| Tool | Entry price | Range, limits or metering |
|---|---|---|
| SerpDad | $15 a month per workspace, billed monthly, plus provider fees on your own keys | Nothing by SerpDad. Your providers bill their own usage. |
| Clearscope | $129 a month (Essentials), $399 (Business) source | 20 drafts a month on Essentials and on Business source |
| Surfer SEO | $49 a month, billed yearly (Discovery, no AI tracking) source | $49 to $299 a month billed yearly, plus custom Enterprise source |
| Frase | $39 a month billed yearly, $49 monthly source | We have not checked Frase's limits. Its pricing page lists them source |
| Keyword Insights | $58 a month (Basic, 10,000 credits), $99 (Professional) source | Grouping costs 1 credit per keyword, a brief 100 credits source |
Competitor prices checked 21 Oct 2026. Prices change. If one is out of date, email [email protected] and we fix it.
We could write a countdown. Here is the real counter.
Seats 01 to 30 are $15 a month. As of 21 Oct 2026, no workspace has paid yet, so all 30 are open. We will show the real number here as seats go.
There is no timer and no code. The only thing that moves the price is the seat count, and it only moves for new workspaces. Seat 31 pays $25. Seat 101 pays $35. The first 30 keep $15 for as long as they pay.
