Solutions / Inherited site
Inherited a site? Learn what it owns in one run.
A new job, a new client or an acquisition hands you a site with years of pages and no map. SerpDad connects to its Search Console, brings in the keywords it already earns, and runs the whole list against Google's live top 10. Every existing URL comes back with a verdict: it ranks, it needs work, it competes with another page, or no planned page needs it. Our run of 1,797 keywords took 1 hour 22 minutes.
Your first plan is free up to 1,000 keywords. No card needed.
Before you read on. Is this you?
- You took over a site in the last few months.
- The person who built the archive has left, and so has their spreadsheet.
- Nobody can tell you which page targets which query.
- There are hundreds of URLs, and some look like they do the same job.
- You owe someone a 90-day plan, soon.
Probably not a fit if you need a technical site audit for speed, indexing rules or a migration. SerpDad maps keywords to pages and tells you what to build and fix. It does not move sites or change anything on them.
Three first-month jobs, and how one run covers them.
1. Pull in what the site already earns
Connect the site's Search Console with read-only access. The first sync reads 90 days of page and query rows and up to 16 months of page rows. Queries the site earns but no keyword covers land in the keyword inbox, and they cost nothing until you route them.
Add the keywords the site ranks for from your Ahrefs account, up to 10,000 a fetch, or upload any export you inherited. SerpDad removes exact duplicates and obvious junk, and nothing else.
2. Get a verdict for every existing URL
Set the site address on the project and run. A page the site already has comes back as Ranks #N when it shows in the fetched top 10, or Optimize #N when only Search Console knows its position. When two or more old pages earn impressions for one planned page, the plan says Pages compete and how many.
If no page clearly leads, the review queue asks which page SerpDad should improve. Pin an owner and the call holds on every re-run. SerpDad never edits, redirects or removes the other URL.
3. Map the site itself
Crawl the site from Improve, on your own DataForSEO key. The table shows each page's status, title, links in and out, clicks and whether it matches a planned page. One crawl stops at 10,000 pages.
After the crawl, Internal links lists broken links with a suggested replacement, orphan pages with two suggested source pages, and thinly linked pages. The content audit sorts every page with Search Console data into buckets, from quick win to prune.
Your first week. From handover to a plan you can defend.
Day 1: connect and import
Search Console, an Ahrefs pull or the old exports. Add your DataForSEO key and one AI provider key.
Day 1: approve the estimate and run
The cost gate shows the price first. Results already fetched in the last 30 days are reused free.
Day 2: settle the close calls
Pick owners for competing pages, answer the page shape questions, park what can wait.
Day 3: crawl and audit
Find orphans, broken links and decaying pages. Export the plan as CSV for the 90-day deck.
Proof, for now. We mapped our own site first.

What do I need to start?
The site address, read-only access to the site's Search Console property, a DataForSEO key and one AI provider key. Your first plan is free up to 1,000 keywords. Provider fees go to your own keys.
Will SerpDad change anything on the site?
No. Search Console access is read-only. Pinning an owner page never edits, redirects or removes a URL. The site crawl runs on your DataForSEO key, so SerpDad's servers never crawl your site.
How far back does it read the site's history?
The first Search Console sync reads 90 days of page and query rows and up to 16 months of page rows. After that, SerpDad syncs the newest day each night.
What if two old pages do the same job?
The plan marks them Pages compete and names both URLs. If neither clearly leads, the review queue asks which page SerpDad should improve, with the evidence for each.
Can it find orphan pages and broken internal links?
Yes, after a site crawl. Internal links lists broken links with a suggested replacement, orphan pages with two suggested source pages, and thinly linked pages.
What if I have no Search Console access yet?
A run still decides from the top 10 alone, and an existing URL that appears there gets a Ranks verdict. The content audit and Search Console verdicts start once you connect it.
