Company / Roadmap

The SerpDad roadmap: what shipped, what we are deciding, and what we will not build.

Our product spec, PRD v2, had 186 requirements when we last counted them on 18 Oct 2026. 177 were built, 5 partly built and 4 not built, and those 4 were pages of this website. So this page is less about features to come and more about how we decide. Every card says where it came from. The last column never empties.

Shipped cards link to their changelog week. Deciding cards take your vote by email.

The board. Four columns, every card sourced.

Shipped means merged in the app in the last 30 days. Building now means merged but not finished, or marked Partly built in the spec. Deciding means out of scope today with a named condition to come back. Will not build is permanent.

Building now4
The knowledge library, switched on

Merged on 21 Oct and switched off. It turns on when it beats the current method in a drafting test on real pages.

Changelog, PR #106
A rehearsed key-compromise drill

The kill switch, per-workspace disable and the written runbook are built. The rehearsal on our staging server has not happened yet.

PRD v2, NFR-S7: Partly built
A second lock on our admin panel

The admin panel already needs two-factor sign-in. A second access gate in front of it is not set up yet.

PRD v2, NFR-S5: Partly built
Plain words on every screen

The rule (count results, never claim how Google ranks) is applied as each screen is rebuilt. Not every screen is rebuilt yet.

PRD v2, R11: Partly built
Deciding6
Markets beyond United States, English, desktop

Every plan reads the US desktop top 10 today. Other countries and languages come after the US plan is proven.

One monthly plan per workspace today (D-18). We look again after 10 paying workspaces.

A longer free trial

Today the free first plan covers up to 1,000 keywords. Longer only if data from first customers shows the need.

Draft history views and Word export

Every draft version is already stored. The views to compare them, and a Word file, wait for someone to ask.

The AI Overview async option

A cheaper, slower way to check AI Overviews. The coverage report is built. The decision waits for its result.

White label

SerpDad stays one product under one name. Agencies send their own reports, under their own name.

Client logins

Clients see what you send them. SerpDad never emails or invites a client.

Publishing for you

Drafts land in WordPress, Webflow, Shopify or Google Docs as drafts. A person presses Publish.

Reselling provider usage

You pay DataForSEO and your AI provider directly. We take no margin on their fees.

Sampling ChatGPT, Perplexity or Claude answers

Their answers change from one ask to the next, so a receipt would promise more than it can show. AI visibility means Google AI Overviews and AI Mode.

Backlink tools and technical site audits

Not in the spec and not planned. SerpDad plans pages; it does not grade a site's plumbing.

The first four are our refusals.

01How a card moves

Two real cards, start to finish. One moved in a day. One has waited since June.

The Editor role moved in a day. The approved Jobs screens showed a person signing articles off, "Sam · Editor". The founder asked to keep an editor option. It became decision D-40, and PR #86 merged the role on 19 Oct. Editors sign drafts and stage them. They cannot spend money or manage people.

Other markets have waited since June. The very first data model, on 17 Jun, already stored a country per project. A searchable country picker arrived on 7 Jul. Yet the spec still plans one market, United States, English, desktop, because a plan is only as good as the top 10 it reads, and we have proven it on one market so far. That card sits in Deciding with its condition written on it.

Most cards look like the second one. Building a thing is rarely the slow part. Knowing it will be right is.

  2. A searchable country pickerBuilt

  3. PRD v2: one market at launchDeciding

Markets beyond United States desktop come after the US plan is proven.

  4. Editor role merged, PR #86Shipped

Asked for, decided (D-40) and merged the same week.

02The decision log

How we decide, in writing. 42 numbered decisions, each with a date and a reason.

Since 17 Oct 2026, every product choice the founder makes gets a number, a date and the parts of the spec it changes. These are the public ones. We skip or reword any that name a supplier we do not disclose.

  1. D-1 to D-33: 33 open questions, answered in one sitting

The founder answered every open decision in PRD v2 on the day the spec and the clickable prototype were approved.

  2. D-18: One plan, priced per workspace

$15 a month for the first 30 paying workspaces, $25 for the next 70, then $35. Each price stays while the workspace keeps paying. Up to 200,000 keywords per run.

  3. D-22: The Intent Checker stays free, on our keys

It runs on SerpDad's own account with a cap of $1 a day, so anyone can try one keyword with no account.

  4. D-34: Everything ships before launch

Every feature marked Next or Planned moved in front of launch. It added an estimated 105 to 140 working days to the launch path. We chose a later launch over a thinner product.

  5. D-35: No monthly usage caps

The plan sets no monthly cap on drafts, voice passes, crawls or AI checks. One site crawl stays capped at 10,000 pages, for safety.

  6. D-36: Writers may stage signed drafts

A Writer can send a signed article to WordPress, Webflow, Shopify or Google Docs as a draft. Signing off stays with an Editor, Manager, Admin or Owner.

  7. D-38: Continue with Google

Google sign-in uses its own client and asks only for your name and email. An existing password account links only after its owner signs in with the password once.

  8. D-39: The page reader runs on our account

Reading the public pages a brief cites uses SerpDad's own account, never your key, capped at 1,000 pages a day per workspace.

  9. D-40: An Editor role

Editors sign drafts off and stage them. They cannot approve runs, change jobs, or manage members, keys, spend limits or billing.

  10. D-41: The knowledge library runs on our account

Searching the stored evidence uses SerpDad's own account, never your key, with a daily cap per workspace. Past the cap, it falls back to plain text search and the receipt says so.

  11. D-42: Lean checking by default, strict as a setting

By default no extra AI call is made on your key to grade the evidence. Strict mode adds three checks per section on your own AI key, and shows the added cost before you turn it on.

03Your vote

Votes change the order. They do not make promises.

There is no voting board and no form. Pick a card, and the email writes itself: the subject names the card, and the body asks three things. What you would do with it. What you do today instead. Whether it is nice to have, or a reason you would not buy.

The third answer helps us most. "I would not buy without it", with a reason we can check, tells us more than a count of names.

A vote changes the order of the Deciding column. It never turns a card into a date. When a card moves, it moves here first, and the day it ships, it goes on the changelog.

Nothing in Will not build takes votes. If you think one of those is wrong, that is a different email, and we want it too.

What this roadmap cannot tell you.

It has no dates for Deciding cards. We could guess, and a guess on a roadmap reads like a promise. A card gets a date when its condition is met and the work starts, not before.

And with no customers yet, every vote so far is ours. The first real votes will change this column more than anything we write here.
