Free tools / SERP overlap checker

Free SERP overlap checker. Can these two keywords share one page?

Type two keywords. The free SERP overlap checker shows Google's top 10 for each side by side, highlights the URLs they share and gives a verdict: 3 or more shared URLs means one page, fewer means two. No account, no keys.

Free, with a daily limit per network. SerpDad pays for the checks.

Try it. Compare two keywords now.

The checker runs in the SerpDad app and needs no sign-up. The shared count and the verdict always show. The full side-by-side lists ask for your email.

3 or more shared: one page

Google shows much the same pages for both keywords. One page can serve both, and two pages would chase the same results.

Fewer than 3 shared: two pages

Google treats them as different searches. Put them on separate pages, even when the words look alike.

What we saw. Close wording, very different results.

Three pairs from our own site. The wording barely changes. The overlap swings from 1 shared URL to 6.

Shared URLs in the Google top 10, checked October 2026.

topical authority tool + build topical authority tool 6 of 10 One page
topical authority tool + topical authority 2 of 10 Two pages

What the rule says: topical authority tool and build topical authority tool belong on one page. Topical authority and topical authority checker each need a page of their own, because Google shows different results for them.

The method. How the SERP overlap checker decides, in plain English.

  1. Fetch both top 10s

SerpDad asks DataForSEO for the Google US top 10 for each keyword, on SerpDad's own account.

  2. Count the shared URLs

The same URL in both lists counts once. The checker highlights each shared URL in both columns.

  3. Apply the rule

3 or more shared URLs means one page. Fewer means two. It is the same rule SerpDad's page plan uses.

Fresh for 30 days. A keyword checked in the last 30 days uses the stored results. The checker counts what Google showed. It never says how Google ranks pages.

That's two keywords. SerpDad compares your whole list.

A SerpDad plan runs the same comparison across every keyword you import, groups keywords that share 3 or more results, and gives each group one owner page. It starts from the pages you already have, and only real ties come to you.

In a workspace you can change the threshold. Your first plan is free up to 1,000 keywords.

Why 3 shared URLs?

It is the rule SerpDad's page plan uses. When two keywords share 3 or more of the same top 10 URLs, Google is showing much the same pages for both, so one page can serve both. In a SerpDad workspace you can change the threshold.

Which results does it compare?

The Google US top 10 for each keyword, side by side, with the shared URLs highlighted.

Two keywords look almost the same but share 1 URL. Is that right?

It happens often. In our own checks, topical authority tool and topical authority checker shared 1 of 10 URLs. The wording is close, but Google shows different pages, so they get different pages.

Is it free?

Yes. You need no account and no provider keys. The verdict always shows. The full side-by-side lists need your email and your consent. There is a daily limit per network.
