Integrations / Google Search Console
SerpDad + Google Search Console: the Search Console content tool that only reads.
SerpDad works as a Search Console content tool with read-only access. Each night it reads your clicks, impressions and positions, puts new queries in a keyword inbox, and can start a workflow when pages drop. It never changes anything in your property.
Syncing is free. It needs no provider key and never adds keywords on its own.
What flows where. What this Search Console content tool does with your data.
Data flows one way, from Search Console into SerpDad. The first sync reads 90 days of page and query rows, and up to 16 months of page rows. After that, SerpDad syncs the newest day each night. Here is where that data goes.
Verdicts that know your pages
A page whose position is known only from Search Console reads Optimize #N, where N is its Search Console average. Verdicts update after each sync.
The keyword inbox
Queries from your own data that no keyword in the project covers. Each gets a proposal with a receipt. They do not count as keywords stored and cost nothing until you route them.
Results per page
The last 28 days against the 28 before, and against 3 months. A page counts as moved only past 3 positions or 8%, whichever is larger.
The content audit
Pages sorted into buckets, from quick win and striking distance to decay and prune, each with the Search Console rows that placed it.
The monthly report
What moved, with the math, for a client or your team. Building it fetches nothing and costs nothing.
Workflow triggers
The nightly sync can start a workflow when pages move past your line. See the drop triggers below.
Drop triggers. When a page slips, the right person hears about it.
Four things in SerpDad watch your Search Console data for a drop. None of them spends money without an approval.
| What watches | What sets it off | What happens next |
|---|---|---|
| Search Console drop or rise trigger | The nightly sync finds pages that moved past your line against the 28 days before | Starts the workflow you chose. Spending steps wait for an approval or run inside a standing approval. |
| Refresh pages that are losing traffic (job) | Clicks fell 20% or more over the last 28 days | Your approver reviews up to 5 refreshes a month per client. Nothing is refreshed until they start it. |
| Decay bucket in the content audit | Clicks down more than 25%, from at least 100 clicks before | Decay and refresh shows the old top 10 next to a fresh one. A dip that matches last year goes to Monitor. |
| Turn new Google searches into pages (job) | New searches in your data that no page covers | Your approver approves up to 4 new pages a month per client. Nothing is fetched until then. |
Why the old SERP matters. When a page decays, SerpDad puts the stored top 10 from before the drop next to today's and marks what changed. Read more on content decay.
What you need. A Google account and two minutes.
- A Google account that can see the site's Search Console property.
- The Owner, Admin or Manager role in your SerpDad workspace.
- A SerpDad project for the site. SerpDad suggests the property that matches its site address.
- Ideally 90 days of data, which is what the first sync reads.
Setup. Connect Search Console in three steps.
Open Workspace, Search Console
Search Console connects per project, so pick the project for the site first.
Sign in with Google
Use the Google account that can see the property. SerpDad asks for read-only access.
Pick the property
SerpDad suggests the one that matches the project's site address. The first sync starts right away.
States, sync timing and what each Measure page reads: Measure docs. How the keyword inbox routes queries: Import keywords docs.
What it won't do. It reads. It never writes, and never takes credit.
SerpDad never changes anything in your Search Console property. A sync never adds keywords on its own: a query becomes a keyword only when someone routes it, and routing shows an estimate first.
Results reports what moved and by how much. It never says SerpDad caused a change and never explains why a search engine moved a page.
If access expires, SerpDad shows Reconnect, sends one email to the person who connected Google, and runs decide from the top 10 alone. Disconnect any time: SerpDad stops syncing and keeps what it already synced.

What access does SerpDad need to Search Console?
Read-only access to one property per project. You sign in with the Google account that can see the property and pick it. SerpDad never changes anything in your Search Console property.
Does connecting Search Console cost anything?
No. Syncing needs no provider key, costs nothing and never adds keywords on its own. A query from the keyword inbox only costs money when someone routes it, and routing shows an estimate first.
How much history does SerpDad read?
The first sync reads 90 days of page and query rows, and up to 16 months of page rows. After that, SerpDad syncs the newest day each night.
Is Search Console required?
No, but it is recommended. Without it, the plan decides from the top 10 alone. The keyword inbox, Results and the content audit all need it, because they read your own clicks and impressions.
Can a Search Console drop start work on its own?
A workflow can use the Search Console drop or rise trigger, which fires when the nightly sync finds pages past your line. Any step that spends money still waits for an approval, or runs inside a standing approval up to a per-run ceiling ($10.00 by default).
What happens if I disconnect?
SerpDad stops syncing and keeps the data it already synced. Runs then decide from the top 10 alone. Deleting the project or the workspace deletes the synced data.
