Product / Write / Brand voice

SerpDad brand voice: your voice on the sentences, never on the facts.

SerpDad builds a brand voice for your workspace or a project from samples you approve. An optional voice pass rewrites checked drafts in that voice on your own Spiral key, and facts and quotes come back exactly as they were. Named authors put a real byline on every export.

The voice pass is optional. Drafts without it can still be signed and exported.

Rewriting for tone is risky. The fact is what changes when nobody is looking.

Every draft sounds like a draft

The facts check out, but the article reads like nobody in particular wrote it. Your editor rewrites it by hand.

A tone rewrite moves a number

Ask a model to make a paragraph sound like you, and 40% can come back as 45%. Now the checked draft is unchecked again.

No name on the page

The article ships with no author, or a generic one, and a reader has no way to see who stands behind it.

How brand voice works. Samples, a voice pass, and a fence around the facts.

  1. Add samples you approve

In Workspace, Voice, add writing you like as URLs or pasted text, for the whole workspace or one project. A voice is ready once it has 3 approved samples.

  2. Turn on the voice pass

Add your own Spiral key and switch on Use the voice pass on new drafts. It rewrites drafts that have already been checked.

  3. Facts and quotes stay fenced off

Facts and quotes are hidden from Spiral and put back word for word. A rewritten sentence that drifts from its sources goes back to its checked wording.

  4. A person signs the result

The voice pass changes how sentences read, not what they claim. A named person still signs the exact version that ships.

Authors and bylines. A named author on every article.

Set up authors once in Workspace, Authors. Each has a name, a role, a bio, a photo and a profile link. When you prepare a draft, you pick the byline along with the writer and the signer.

The byline goes into every export. The HTML export carries Article schema with the byline in it, so the author travels with the page into your own system.

Authors can have a voice too. Once a byline has 3 approved samples, an article under that byline uses the author's own voice instead of the house one.

The content score counts a byline, an author bio and a profile link under Experience and authorship, worth 10 of its 100 points. It is advice, never a gate.

From the SerpDad docs.
Author detailWhere it is used
Name, role, bio, photo, profile link Set once in Workspace, Authors
Byline Every export, and the Article schema in the HTML export
Bio and profile link The authorship check in the content score
Voice samples The byline's own voice, from 3 approved samples

The fact library. Every claim, its source, and when someone last checked it.

Write, Fact library lists every claim across your briefs and articles, with its source, its last tick and where it is used.

A fact goes stale 365 days after its last tick, and briefs that cite a stale fact show a badge. Re-verify fetches the source again and shows the captured passage, so the person ticking it reads the same words the claim came from.

The Receipts log sits beside it and lists the receipts behind your content.

What it won't do. It never lets the voice change a fact.

The voice pass sees the sentences around your facts, not the facts. Facts and quotes are hidden from Spiral and restored exactly, and any sentence that drifts from its sources goes back to the checked version.

It also runs on your account, not ours. The voice pass uses your own Spiral key, Spiral bills you directly, and the settings page shows Spiral's training policy before you switch it on. We suggest a separate Spiral account, because a Spiral key opens the whole account.

How does SerpDad learn our brand voice?

You add samples as URLs or pasted text in Workspace, Voice, for the whole workspace or one project. A voice is ready once it has 3 approved samples.

Can the voice pass change a fact or a quote?

No. Facts and quotes are hidden from Spiral and restored exactly. A rewritten sentence that drifts from its sources goes back to its checked wording.

Do I need a Spiral account?

Only for the voice pass, which is optional. It runs on your own Spiral key and Spiral bills you directly. A draft without a voice pass reads Voice pending and can still be signed and exported.

Is our draft text used to train Spiral?

That depends on Spiral's terms for your account. The settings page shows Spiral's training policy before you turn the voice pass on.

What goes into an author profile?

A name, role, bio, photo and profile link. The byline goes into exports, and the HTML export includes it in Article schema. An author with 3 approved samples gets their own voice.

Who can change the voice settings?

The Owner and Admins. Owners, Admins, Managers and Editors can add and edit authors and voice samples. Writers cannot.
