Who it is for, and what starts a run.

Who it is for

Any project with a page plan. The AI Overview part reads results SerpDad already fetched for the plan, so it needs no new keywords.

Use it when you want to see, week by week, which keywords show an AI Overview, which URLs Google cites, and whether your site is among them.

What starts it

Schedule. Every Monday at 06:00 UTC by default; change the day, time and time zone in the trigger.

A run is skipped while the last one is still going.

Three blocks, and only one of them spends.

Each block is a step you can open in the editor. Every step keeps a receipt: inputs, outputs, evidence, provider, cost and timings.

  1. AI Overview check

    Reads the SERPs the plan already fetched: which focus keywords show an AI Overview, which URLs it cites and whether your site is among them. No cost.

  2. AI Mode check

    Checks your top 50 focus keywords by volume in Google AI Mode and records which sources each answer cites. About $0.0012 per query on your DataForSEO key.

  3. Notify by email

    Emails the workflow owner with the week's results for the project.

SerpDad reports what was cited. It never says why a URL was cited, and it does not track ChatGPT, Perplexity or any other assistant.

Before it spends, it asks.

Approvals

A scheduled run has nobody at the gate, so it needs a standing approval. An Owner or Admin grants one for the published version, with a ceiling of $1.00 per run.

A run above the ceiling waits and emails approvers. Publishing a version that changes a spending block or the trigger clears the standing approval.

What it costs

AI Overview check: nothing. It reads stored results.

AI Mode check: 50 queries at about $0.0012 each, so about $0.06 a week on your DataForSEO key. The estimate shows before the standing approval is granted.
