Workflows / Templates / Local service areas

The local service areas template: only where Google shows a separate result.

Most service area pages are one page copied with the place name swapped. This workflow template plans them from the live top 10 instead: it keeps the pages whose focus keyword names a place you serve, writes their briefs and saves one CSV row per page, so each place gets a page only when the results back it.

Every template asks before it spends and never publishes.

Who it is for, and what starts a run.

Who it is for

Local service businesses and the agencies that run their sites: trades, clinics, firms and anyone who serves a list of towns or districts.

Also useful when you inherit a site with dozens of near-identical area pages and need to know which ones the results support.

What starts it

Manual. A person presses Run and uploads or pastes the keyword list, service keywords with the place names in them.

At Use template you can take keywords from Ahrefs instead of a file.

Inside the template, block by block.

Each block is a step you can open in the editor. Every step keeps a receipt: inputs, outputs, evidence, provider, cost and timings.

  1. Import keywords

Reads your service and place keywords from a file, a paste or Ahrefs.

  2. Engine group

Plans the list with the shared-results line raised from 3 to 4 of the top 10. Service results for nearby places share many URLs, so at 3 they would fold into one page. The other engine blocks run as usual.

  3. Filter

Keeps the pages whose focus keyword names one of your places. The template ships with example place names; replace them with your own list before you publish.

  4. Generate brief

Writes briefs for up to 25 of those pages, each from its own top 10.

  5. Export CSV

Saves one row per service area page, ready for a writer or a page builder.

Where two places share most of their top 10, the plan keeps them on one page and the receipt shows the shared URLs. That is the plan telling you a second page would compete with the first.

Before it spends, it asks.

Approvals

A person starts each run and approves the estimate. A Manager above the owner approval line sees Request approval instead.

A run waiting for approval expires after 7 days. No standing approval is needed, because nothing runs on a schedule.

What it costs

SERP fetches and keyword data go to your DataForSEO key; page classification and up to 25 briefs go to your AI provider key.

Every spending block shows its line in the estimate first. A list of services times places grows fast, so check the keyword count before you approve.

What you get when the run finishes.

  • A page plan for every service and place keyword, with receipts.
  • Briefs for up to 25 service area pages.
  • A CSV with one row per service area page.
  • Places that share results with another place, kept on one page with the evidence.

No workflow can publish to a site. Drafts and tasks wait for a person. Spending waits for an approval, and every run checks your monthly cap first.
