Workflows / Templates / Keyword pile to page plan

The keyword pile to page plan template: in one approved run.

This workflow template turns a keyword list into a page plan: one owner page per keyword, decided from Google's live top 10 and checked against the pages you already have. It is the default workflow on every SerpDad project, so your first run already uses it.

Every template asks before it spends and never publishes.

Who it is for, and what starts a run.

Who it is for

Anyone starting a project with a pile of keywords and no clear idea which page each one belongs on. That is most projects: an export from Ahrefs or Semrush, a spreadsheet from a client, or a list someone kept for two years.

It is also the base the other planning templates build on. They add filters after the plan; this one keeps the whole plan.

What starts it

Manual. A person presses Run, uploads a keyword file or pastes a list, and maps the columns.

At Use template you can swap the source for Keywords from Ahrefs instead of a file. Then you set the seeds or the site in the editor before you publish.

Keyword list to page plan, block by block.

Each block is a step you can open in the editor. Every step keeps a receipt: inputs, outputs, evidence, provider, cost and timings.

  1. Import keywords

Reads your file or pasted list. It removes exact duplicates and obvious junk, and never merges keywords that only look alike: the search results decide that.

  2. Engine group

Seven blocks in a fixed order: Fetch SERPs, Search volume, Cluster by SERP overlap, Score scope and format, Route around owned pages, Park weak pages and Labs secondary keywords. Keywords that share 3 or more of the same top 10 URLs go on one page, the line your project sets.

  3. Human review

Lists the decisions a person should look at, such as ties between two pages. In this template it does not hold the run: the briefs still go ahead, and the queue waits for you.

  4. Generate brief

Writes briefs for the top pages in the plan, the top 5 by search volume by default, built from each page's own top 10.

  5. Notify by email

Emails the person who approved the run that the plan and briefs are ready.

Change any setting in the editor before you publish: the shared-results line, how many pages get briefs, or who gets the email. The workflow runs the published version only, and old versions never change.

Before it spends, it asks.

Approvals

A person starts every run, so a person approves every run. After the upload, SerpDad shows the estimate and you select Approve run. A Manager above the owner approval line sees Request approval instead.

A run waiting for approval expires after 7 days. No standing approval is needed, because nothing runs on a schedule.

What it costs

SERP fetches and keyword data go to your DataForSEO key. Page classification and briefs go to your AI provider key. You pay those providers directly.

Our own run of 1,797 keywords showed an estimate of $4.32 to $14.77 and cost $13.10 in provider fees. Your first plan is free up to 1,000 keywords, with briefs for the top 5 pages.

What you get when the run finishes.

  • A page plan: every keyword with one owner page and a verdict (New page, Optimize, Ranks or Pages compete).
  • Receipts for each decision, linking to the shared URLs behind it.
  • A review queue with the real ties, for a person to settle.
  • Briefs for the top pages, built from their own top 10.
  • An email to whoever approved the run.

No workflow can publish to a site. Drafts and tasks wait for a person. Spending waits for an approval, and every run checks your monthly cap first.
